Early 20th Century Black Onyx and 0.78ct Old Cut Diamond Dress Ring | Pre-Loved | Platinum
A striking example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, this dramatic onyx and diamond ring combines Art Deco elegance with timeless sophistication. At the centre, a glossy, deep-black onyx panel measuring approximately 16.80mm x 5.30mm x 2.70mm anchors the design with bold contrast and graphic precision.
Set into the onyx are three old cut diamonds, graded I/J colour and SI1–SI2 clarity, with a total weight of approximately 0.36 carats. These are complemented by an intricate border of 42 round brilliant and old cut diamonds, estimated at H/I colour and VS to SI clarity, totalling an additional 0.42 carats. Together, the diamonds offer a combined total carat weight of 0.78ct, sparkling beautifully against the cool gleam of the tested platinum setting.
The elongated, scalloped frame enhances the ring’s vintage character, while its geometric symmetry makes it a standout piece for both collectors and lovers of period jewellery.
Currently a UK size M½, this ring can be resized up or down by up to three sizes. It is offered in excellent condition and is accompanied by an independent external valuation document, confirming its quality and replacement value.
A beautiful and wearable piece of jewellery history that speaks to both bold glamour and refined craftsmanship.
